Materials and process

This piece was created using oil on linen, beginning with a burnt sienna underpainting. The palette was limited to ultramarine, yellow ochre, burnt sienna, and titanium white. Total working time was approximately 40 hours across three weeks.

Artist statement

My work explores the boundary between observation and memory. Each painting begins outdoors, en plein air, before being reinterpreted in the studio over weeks or months. The final piece is neither a faithful record nor a pure invention, but something in between.
